Eric Westerlund

It is with great sadness to report that Eric Westerlund passed away from cancer. Eric was the best of what we are supposed to be as human beings, and perhaps the best of CIDS. Even when he was sick with just a few weeks left to live, Eric was worried about and trying to find a way to help CIDS. Like any good Marine and former Marine Drill Sargent, Eric was determined to see the mission to the end; and that he did. A huge salute to Eric. We will miss you!

Eric Westerlund served as Senior Dispatcher for CIDS, LLC, bringing extensive experience in transportation, logistics, and field operations to one of the company’s most critical day-to-day roles. With more than 14 years of experience in roll-off dispatching and over two decades of transportation and route coordination experience, Eric had developed a thorough understanding of the planning and communication required to keep equipment, drivers, and containers moving efficiently.

Prior to his career in dispatch and transportation, Eric worked as a construction superintendent, where he developed valuable experience in field leadership, scheduling, organization, and coordinating personnel and resources. This construction background gave him a practical understanding of jobsite demands and the importance of dependable, timely service to CIDS customers and project teams.

Eric also served seven years in the United States Marine Corps, where his experience in a leadership and training role helped develop the discipline, accountability, and attention to detail that characterized his approach work.

As Senior Dispatcher, Eric coordinated the daily movement of CIDS roll-off trucks and containers, balancing customer needs, driver schedules, jobsite requirements, and changing field conditions. His ability to anticipate logistical challenges and make timely decisions helped ensure that customer orders were fulfilled efficiently while keeping the company’s transportation operations moving safely and productively.

Known by his colleagues for being steady, dependable, and reliable under pressure, Eric was highly respected by both his peers and the employees he led. His experience, work ethic, and commitment to getting the job done should not be forgotten and will be forever the standard to achieve here at CIDS.
